Our Memberships

The AKNN is a self-organising working group of the telecommunications operators and manufacturers in Germany. The AKNN has neither a coordinating office nor a central contact for organisational questions.

The purpose of the working group is to establish technical interfaces, develop operational and organisational processes in the multi-carrier environment and find solutions for general numbering and network interconnection issues in consideration of the underlying fair trade rules.

It aims at maintaining the high quality standard on the national telecommunications market, minimising costs and boosting innovations in compliance with European and worldwide standards.

BITKOM is the voice of the IT, telecommunications and new media industry in Germany. The organization represents more than 1,000 businesses, 800 of which are members. Most of them are global players; however 500 mid-sized firms also enjoy BITKOM’s services. In the German ICT market, BITKOM members have sales totalling 120 billion Euros. BITKOM represents almost 90 percent of the market.

BITKOM is the most important intermediary between the ICT industry and the press in Germany. The organization communicates the political, economical and societal positions of its members. It supports their concerns by engaging in various public relation activities.

BITKOM organizes just about 500 events per year attended by more than 10,000 decision makers and experts within the ICT industry. Member companies have access to unique platforms like forums, work groups and expert committees for the exchange of ideas. It is here that joint positions and activities of BITKOM’s industries are developed. At the same time, the opportunity for valuable contact to competitors, partners and customers arises. With numerous events and exhibitions booths within and outside of Germany, BITKOM also supports its members on their way to the international markets.
